Terms of Service

The Service

Supashot provides screenshot capture, annotation, and library tools that run primarily on your device. The macOS app and Chrome extension store your screenshots and related data locally unless a future feature explicitly offers cloud sync or sharing that you choose to enable.

We may update, change, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate material changes through the website or in-product notices.

License

Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Supashot macOS app and Chrome extension for your personal or internal business purposes. You may not sell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the software except as permitted by applicable law.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the applications except where such restrictions are prohibited by law. You may not remove or alter proprietary notices in the software or on the website.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only in compliance with applicable laws and with respect for others' rights. You are responsible for the screenshots you capture and how you use them. Do not use Supashot to harass others, violate privacy, infringe intellectual property, or capture content you are not permitted to record.

The Chrome extension requires browser permissions to capture tabs you select. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with the policies of sites you capture and with your organization's rules, if applicable.

Your content

You retain ownership of screenshots, annotations, and other content you create with Supashot. We do not claim ownership of your local library data. Because the core product is local-first, you are responsible for backing up data on your device and for any loss of data due to uninstalling the app, clearing browser data, or device failure.

Website and communications

The marketing website may offer download links, product information, a blog, and optional forms such as a waitlist or contact email. If you submit an email address or other information through the website, you agree that we may use it to respond to you and send product updates you request. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal data.

Paid features

If we offer paid plans or subscriptions in the future, additional payment, billing, and refund terms will apply at the time of purchase. Prices and features may change with notice as described at checkout or on the website.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SUPASHOT AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (USD $50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Supashot from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these terms.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the applications and ceasing use of the website. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, where permitted by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when these terms were last revised.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in the United States, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
